Claudio Cobelli receives a medal of honor for his work in diabetes research

A couple of days ago, we were thrilled to see MuSiC4Diabetes researcher Claudio Cobelli from Università degli Studi di Padova receive a medal of honour from the Società Italiana di Diabetologia for his invaluable contribution in advancing diabetes research and his development of the Italian diabetes community.

📜 Claudio Cobelli is an Emeritus Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Padova and has had a significant influence on the development of analytical mathematical models for Type 2 and later Type 1 diabetes, which gained FDA approval in 2008 as an alternative to animal trials for insulin testing. In addition, his work has considerably impacted research for artificial pancreas systems and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology, and he coordinates the Forget Diabetes project, which like MuSiC4Diabetes, develops groundbreaking technology easing diabetes management.

The MuSiC4Diabetes consortium is grateful to count him among the innovative minds shaping up the ambitious future of the project.

From the whole consortium congratulations!
